Lower status yessing is a great tool for making moments feel real, I love it. On the other side, would being a dummy be enough of a justification to heighten upon?

I love this approach: it makes those very awkward imitations totally playable. It also works if, in the moment, you blurt out something that might be questionable (morally, politically, ethically). If your scene partner isn’t afraid to pick you up on it, you can definitely save yourself and the scene by owning your stupidity (“Jeez, what was I thinking? You can’t say that!”)

I think that salesman scene might have been on one of my level 3 shows? Can’t recall for sure.

I also feel like I saw Fanelli do this a lot after being initiated for doing something dumb. I remember using that move in shows because it tickled me so much. He’d hear the initiation and get down on himself “I’m so stupid! What was I thinking?”

It always defused the person who started and at him, and often led to them trying to build him up. But he’d never accept it “no. I’m

Stupid why did I even do X?”
